Position Summary: The main goal of the Mental Health Therapist is to provide a range of psychological assessments, diagnostic, therapeutic, and case management services for individuals, couples, and select groups. To build a strong, sustainable base of clinic clients within Root Whole Body. The Therapist will partner with our other medical providers and therapists at Root in order to support clients on their journey towards holistic health. When they are not caring for patients, the Therapist will make connections in the community to promote their services and Root’s mission. They will attend events, speaking engagements, develop blogs, and social media content, and participate in marketing/promotional activities to increase their presence in the local community and provide education on the merits of holistic, integrative healthcare.
Currently, the Therapist position is exclusively a remote position seeing clients virtually 1-2 days per week. The provider must live in the greater Portland Metro Area. Our intention is that the provider is able to attend in-person company events as well as move into in-person client visits one day a week in the future.

Responsibilities:
- Provides therapy, counseling, and/or psychotherapy to clients and families as appropriate to the position; prepares treatment plans, discharge plans, and follow-up care programs; provides therapeutic crisis intervention and emergency services as required and refer patients when appropriate. This is an office hours position with defined client hours, not on call.
- Collects data about patients through interview, case history, psychological tests, and/or observational techniques; evaluates data to identify causes of problems and to determine proper therapeutic approach.
- Provides and/or arranges for therapeutic interventions as appropriate for patients or clients in a crisis condition and for those with serious disturbance problems.
- Follows up to determine reliability and validity of treatment used; makes recommendations regarding modification to services and delivery.
- Consults with other providers and related professionals, as appropriate, in the performance of therapeutic and/or casework; refers clients to appropriate providers and service agencies as required.
- Interacts cooperatively with other Root therapists and clinicians to provide a seamless client experience and refer services as needed.
- Participates in the review of clinical issues and program policies and procedures.
- Participates in, leads, and/or coordinates training sessions and workshops to enhance treatment skills.
- Presents safe, professional and approachable persona toward patients and co-workers.
- Presents a high professional standard in dress, appearance, language, and lifestyle.
- Attends and participates in all general, team and required meetings.
- Provides written and video content for blogs, social media and livestream events.
- Alignment with Root’s mission and values.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree: LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, Psychologist, etc. or directly related field; 2 years of patient-facing directly related experience which may include internship and/or practicum.
- Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
- Certification/Licensure in Oregon
- Credentialled with some insurance panels
