Job Description
JCCGCI is looking for a compassionate and culturally sensitive trauma focused Licensed Social Worker who will play a pivotal role in providing essential Mental Health services to the Coney Island Community through JCCGCI’s Urban Neighborhood Services Program, located in Coney Island, Brooklyn.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide trauma-focused individual, family, and group therapy.
- Promote community level healing and wellness from the impacts of violence or other trauma.
- Increase participants’ range of coping skills.
- Find actionable ways to achieve rapport-building and client progress via in-person, socially distanced, and virtual platforms.
Qualifications:
- Culturally sensitive “credible clinicians” – licensed Mental Health workers (LMSW or LCSW required) whose familiarity with violence and trauma, cultural attunement, clinical skills, and experience allows them to be viewed as credible by our participants and community members who may have found typical Mental Health services culturally inaccessible or stigmatizing.
- Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and human relations skills.
- The ideal candidate should possess the capability to make informed decisions regarding the best procedures and practices to achieve the goals of the position.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English is mandatory.
- Additionally, a strong grasp of virtual meeting platforms and a fundamental understanding of computer networking processes are essential.
Position Type: Full-time/In-Office
Annual Salary: $60,000 - $65,000
