Restore Orthopedics & Spine Center is seeking a college graduate for a Paid Clinical Internship as a Medical Scribe/Assistant. We are fun, friendly and fast-paced. Our Medical Scribe/Assistants enjoy a flexible schedule. As a Medical Scribe/Assistant you will learn all you need to know to make a great application for Medical School and Physician Assistant! You will be working with a current faculty appointed clinical instructor at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, Western University of Health Sciences Medical School/PA program,
SCU Southern California University of Health Sciences PA program, Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science PA program, and Keck Graduate Institute of Claremont PA Program. The applicant will interact with current students in the above programs throughout the year. The applicant will also get mentoring in course work and clinical research.
The Medical Scribe/Assistant position will get you the clinical hours you need. Work side by side with our providers and students every day. Our office provides sub-specialty surgical care for Orthopedics & Pain Management so if you are interested in sports medicine, this is the place for you! We offer a competitive compensation. As a Medical Scribe/Assistant, you will need to be available Monday through Friday for about 24 hours a week based on clinical needs. The perfect candidate is willing to commit for at least one year and will have graduated from a 4 year institution with excellent grades and preparing to apply to Medical/PA School. Compensation $18-$22 depending on experience, grades and education.
Job Duties:
Right hand assist the providers with direct and indirect patient care during the clinical treatment cycle to include patient flow and gathering of patient historical data. Generate notes for all patients/ Document treatment plan. Review and edit notes as required daily. Input all patient information into the electronic medical record. Create and edit templates. Create and edit provider specific forms. Complete patient orders as directed by physician or supporting provider. Communicate visit results and orders to patients as required. Facilitate the prioritization of physician or supporting providers time by pre-processing patient data. Follow up with patient regarding recommended care/plan Enter any prescription data as dictated by the physician. Other job duties as assigned.
