The Medical Scheduler actively supports and promotes the company’s values and will be under the direction of the Business Office Supervisor.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule procedures for outpatient facility and follow-up appointments for established patients
- Schedule in-office procedures
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to insure efficient scheduling and utilization of resources.
- Collect and verify patient information including insurance details and medical history.
- Answer phones and assist patients regarding appointments, services and general information.
- Correspond via phone and email regarding outpatient schedule.
- Coordinate with referral coordinator
- Abides by HIPAA laws and regulations regarding personal medical information.
- Provides extraordinary customer service to internal and external customers.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to provide communication effectively across multiple situations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Bilingual is a plus.
- Medical scheduling experience preferred.
- Medical terminology knowledge (1 -2-year experience preferred)
- Computer proficiency (word, e-mail, excel, etc.)
WORK HOURS/ SHIFT:
- Job is Full time Monday-Friday
