Quikaid is a Social Security disability representation firm located in Saint Petersburg, FL. We were founded in 1993, and we provide legal service to clients throughout the United States. We are a well-managed and fast-growing company. We have a fast-paced, exciting and fun work environment!

What we are looking for:

We are seeking experienced Medical Records Specialists to join our Hearings Department. This role is a critical part of our company's success.

This is a full-time position with a Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm schedule.

This is a permanent remote position, but you must be a resident of and currently reside in Florida.

Job Description:

Our Hearings team is responsible for providing Quikaid clients with the best possible chance for approval of their Social Security disability claims.

The Hearings team assumes total responsibility for a set of individual claims from the time a Hearing is scheduled until adjudication.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Verbal and written communication with clients, medical treatment facilities, and the Social Security Administration
  • Reading, evaluating, and ordering Medical Records.
  • Creating Medical Records Requests accurately and in compliance with HIPAA standards
  • Reviewing and processing notices of rejected Medical Records Requests from medical treatment facilities
  • Liaise with other departments in the company to take all necessary actions needed to ensure a favorable outcome for the client.

Our training thoroughly explains applicable Social Security administrative law and regulations, and is supplemented by frequent continuing education sessions.

The starting pay range for this position is $16.00/hr - $18.00/hr with raises and bonuses given regularly to strong performers. Typically, bonuses for strong performers result in $3-4 per hour in additional pay. Starting pay is dependent on candidate qualifications, work experience, and skillset.

Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2+ years of experience working in an office environment (law firm, insurance company, medical practice, etc.), or have educational credentials equal to this level of experience
  • Previous experience in speaking directly with customers
  • Strong and accurate communication skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to write effectively and persuasively
  • Prior experience reading and understanding case law and statutes is preferred
  • Must type at least 50 words per minute
  • Intermediate to advanced-level computer literacy.
  • Must be able to multi-task and demonstrate understanding of nuance
  • Positive personality (smile through the phone!)

Technology Requirements:

We provide ALL software you need to perform your job duties, but you are required to provide the hardware listed below (including Windows 10+). You will be required to complete a Tech Certification prior to your Start Date, in which we will review your technology components to ensure they meet the below requirements.

You will not be able to start working at Quikaid until you have the needed equipment and have passed the Tech Certification.

  • You must have a personal computer (PC) with Windows software.
  • MacBooks & ChromeBooks cannot be used.
  • In addition to a PC, you must have an external keyboard, mouse, headset with microphone, and working webcam (for training).
  • You must have a Battery UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) with at least 3 surge battery outlets (in case of power outage, this prevents lost work and dropped phone calls). Your computer, modem, and at least one monitor must be plugged into the battery-backed outlets.
  • We require at least two monitors that are at least 24 inches in size to ensure compatibility with Quikaid's software.
  • You must have wired Internet access. WiFi cannot be used due to security and reliability reasons. You will be sent a list of approved modems - you cannot use any unapproved modems due to serious connectivity issues they cause.
  • You must have a quiet place to work in your home (for example, spare bedroom, home office, den, etc.). Background noise is not acceptable.

Other Information:

  • This is for a Monday, April 8th start date. This will allow you to provide sufficient notice to your existing employer (if you are employed currently). This date is not negotiable because we will start training all new employees on this date.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check and drug screening prior to your Start Date. If you are not going to "pass" your background check and/or drug screening, we would discourage you from applying.
  • We will review your technology components to ensure they meet the above requirements prior to your Start Date. We call this a "Technology Certification." You will not be able to work without passing a Tech Certification.
  • If you are invited to interview, the interview will be conducted remotely via video. Generally, you will interview with 1-2 members of our senior management team, approximately 30 minutes per interview. All new hires must complete two rounds of interviews and an aptitude test prior to being offered the position.
