General overview of position: As an Intake Specialist, you will assist in organizing and maintaining health information both in paper files and in electronic systems. Position involves DIGITAL SORTING of medical records. Records are reviewed and sorted by the specialist in chronological order, then cross-referenced against the pay history to ensure we have a complete and accurate file. Following up for additional information that may be necessary via email and/or phone.
Essential Functions:
- Appropriately and accurately pulls records for claimants file(s), quality review, and audits in a timely manner.
- Observe confidentiality and safeguards all patient related information.
- Maintain a good working relationship within the department and other departments.
- Adhere to company requirements, policies, and standards.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Answering main phone line in the department.
- Perform other duties as assigned. (cross-training)

Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Medical terminology knowledge/experience with medical records preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge. (Adobe, Excel, Work, Outlook, etc.)
- Experience with Medicare Set Asides/ Workman’s Compensation claims is a plus.
- Experience in coding/billing is a plus.

- Knowledge of health information management services.
