We are seeking a Full-Time (32-40 hours) Medical Records Assistant. Schedule would be Monday-Friday with occasional weekends. This is a benefits eligible position.

Job summary::
Variety of tasks including collecting resident information and files, processing resident information and documentation. Assisting the HIM director in completing audits and documentation submission and record request.

Duties and Responsibilities::
- Serve as back up when the director is out of the facility.
- Ensure the resident record is organized, accurate and complete.
- Cover front desk reception during breaks.
- Responsible for safeguarding record and complying with HIPPA.
- Processing of admission and discharge documents.
- Other job duties as assigned.
- Assist in setting resident transportation and appointments.
- Assist in ROI completion and submissions.
- Maintain a high level of organization
Skills and Competencies::
- Must have in-depth knowledge of documentation regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency with office equipment and creating digital copies of documents for electronic storage (scanning, indexing, uploading).
- Strong organization skills, detail oriented. Knowledge of HIPPA and resident privacy and security regulations.
Qualifications and skills: including hard and soft :
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certification accreditation as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or student in Health Information Management degree program preferred but not required
- Previous SNF experience preferred but not required
- Ability to learn and utilize health management information software
- Preferred experience with Point Click Care
- Familiarity with health record chart content, order, and ability to accurately scan large volumes of documents in paper or uploading electronically for processing.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulatory agency requirements and standards for records retention
