Underneath the supervision of the Charge Nurse or Business Office Manager, responsible for areas such as insurance verification, scheduling of surgical procedures, billing/accounts receivable and accounts payable records.
Promotes a favorable image of the Center to physicians, patients, insurance companies, and general public.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma
- Two (2) years of experience, preferably in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)
- Experience in Orthopedics, Podiatry, Plastics
- ASC Strong knowledge of ICD 10 strong knowledge of CPT (Certifications preferred, not required)
- Candidate must be engaged daily to learn new skills
- Continuously looking for ways to improve the process
- Project and team driven
- Experience with Microsoft Office; Excel and Word, and Google
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLIES:
- Greets patients and provides necessary paperwork for completion. Notifies appropriate nursing staff that patient is present after patient has completed the check-in process.
- Answer incoming calls, routes calls properly and takes accurate messages when unable to connect to the requested party.
- Receives and distributes all mail/ special deliveries.
- Prints out patients labels, forms, etc. for patients charts and assembles charts before appointment (Completed one (1) week in advance.
- Post all checks, credit card slips, and cash received to payments-received log, showing type of payment separately. (Facility/Anesthesia).
- Gives balanced log for payments- received log, and original copies of all payments collected to Business Office Manager daily.
- Participates in yearly competencies.
- Ability to recognize/ define problems, collects data/facts, and draw valid conclusions, and correct error.
- Welcomes suggestions and recommendations.
- Ability to respond to questions and professionally interact verbally and/written with managers, co-workers, and patients.
- And other duites.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to sit, and stand for long periods of time. (6-8 hours per day).
