Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years minimum experience in customer service.
- Computer skills.
- Medical office experience preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Data Entry and Chart Administration
- Schedule and update appointments in the computer management system.
- File patient charts, patient information, referral letters.
- Update patient recalls as necessary.
- Prepare new patient charts.Assist in general office duties and other duties, as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow HIPPA guidelines.
- Telephone and Greeting
- Answer telephone calls promptly (two rings).
- Directs all calls to appropriate personnel.
- Identifies emergency calls and schedules appropriately.
- Consistent Patient Follow-Up
- Maintain an active cancellation list and use as necessary.
- Confirm all appointments and update charts to confirm proper scheduling.
- Financial Responsibilities
- Obtain proper insurance information.
- Working knowledge of basic insurance principles and policies.
- Verify patient benefits and confirm with the billing manager.
- Greet and orient patients as they arrive for their appointments.
- Scan insurance cards and driver’s licenses into EHR system and obtain necessary information concerning patient demographics. Organize new patient paperwork.
- Answer the phone in a friendly and helpful manner.
- Maintain organized patient files.
- Assist in contacting patients for any demographic or medical information needed.
- Assist with general office duties as needed.
- PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
- Must be able to walk and stand for eight hours.
- Must be able to sit stationary for extended periods of time
- Must be able to type or write legibly in a dimly-lit setting.
- Must be able to hear softly spoken words.
- Consistently operate a computer and other types of office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
- Frequently move and lift charts and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
