Medical Receptionist/Front Desk

Looking for a full time (M-F) receptionist to provide exceptional care in our behavioral health department for a great patient experience.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Greets and registers all incoming patients professionally. Handles incoming and outgoing communications concisely and in a pleasant manner.
• Updates patient demographics at every visit including but not limited to HIPAA forms, insurance, phone, address, ID, photo, etc.
• Answers telephone promptly and courteously. Routes calls as appropriate and takes/ forwards complete messages in a timely manner to the appropriate individual.
• Schedules / reschedules / cancels patient appointments for all BH providers and confirms patient appointments as needed by the department to maximum efficiency.
• Assist with connecting patients and provider(s) via telehealth using Coalfield’s EMR system.
• Completes accurate demographic and insurance information for each patient and enters information correctly into appropriate systems.
• Collects on patient accounts and/or copayments as indicated, maintains accurate accounting of petty cash fund on a daily basis.
• Responds to patient inquiries with regard to basic insurance and billing questions.
• Restocks and maintains assigned workstation and equipment in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Performs medical record requests in a timely manner.
• Collaborates with providers and other staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Maintain records for the Behavioral Health Department staff with a priority place on patients who are receiving Psychiatric care.
• Move patient appointments as directed by Clinical Coordinator and/or Chief Operating Officer.
• Handles telephone inquiries and communicates effectively with patients and staff regarding test results, medications and treatment instructions as directed by the provider. Treat each call with respect and kindness.
• Learns and maintains up to date knowledge of the Electronic Health Records System and scheduling system used by Coalfield, is able to operate efficiently and accurately as needed. Ensure accuracy of documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour
