Receptionist/Medical Technician/Optician

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Technician/Front Desk Receptionist/Optician to join our team. As a Medical Technician/Front Desk Receptionist/Optician, you will play a crucial role in providing quality patient care and supporting medical professionals in a optical setting. The position requires strong knowledge of ophthalmology procedures, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will also be assisting with front desk check-in/check-out, retail, fitting glasses as well as testing procedures.

Duties:

-Perform vision screenings
- Assist customers in selecting appropriate eyeglasses frames based on their prescription, face shape, and personal style preferences
- Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features to ensure proper fitting of eyeglasses
- Educate customers on lens options, coatings, and treatments available to enhance their vision
- Adjust and repair eyeglasses as needed to ensure optimal comfort and fit
- Assist with contact lens fittings, including instruction on insertion, removal, and care
- Maintain accurate records of customer prescriptions, orders, and payments
- Coordinate with insurance providers to process claims and verify coverage
- Keep the optical area clean, organized, and stocked with inventory
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in eyewear fashion and lens technology

Skills:
- Proficient in using optical systems for order entry and inventory management
- Experience with medical scheduling software such as Compulink or similar systems
- Strong administrative skills with attention to detail
- Previous experience working in a optical or medical office setting is preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly to customers
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
