Busy medical practice seeking a medical receptionist with a positive and friendly attitude to work in our Newark office. Candidate must be motivated and a team player.
Responsibilities:
- Greet all patients and visitors in a friendly, helpful and professional manner.
- Collect and verify all insurance information.
- Ensure that all referrals and authorizations are obtained prior to the patients being seen.
- Register and update all patient demographics.
- Utilize a multi-line phone system, fax machine, printer, copier and scanner.
- Scan and upload documents to patient electronic medical record.
- Schedule, cancel and reschedule patient appointments as needed.
- Collect co-pays, deductibles and past due balances.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient records.
- Maintain a neat and clean work environment and professional appearance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School education.
- 1-3 years recent experience as a medical receptionist.
- EMR experience.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Detail-oriented and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Check and respond promptly to e-mails.
