Milford Primary Care Associates is a patient centered, team-based, community-aligned private practice seeking Medical Receptionists who provide our patients with a positive experience at every encounter, while working as a team with Physicians and staff to promote growth and extraordinary care to our patients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone, and ensures that the patient has a positive experience from start to finish.
- Assures patient demographic and insurance information is accurately entered and verified in the EHR (Electronic Health Record).
- Collects Copays & Payments on Accounts.
- Handles appointment scheduling, rescheduling and cancelations including patient notification of changes.
- Assures all inboxes and messages are handled by end of the business day.
- Follow-ups on all Specialist referrals & Insurance authorizations.
- Handles all incoming and outgoing faxes.
- Educates patients on office policies and patient portal.
- Assures patients receive all necessary paperwork and future appointments at time of departure.
- Performs daily close of payments received.
- Participates in ACO’s (Accountable Care Organizations) initiatives.
- Maintains a safe and positive work environment by following office policies/procedures and state/federal guidelines.
- Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
- Handles all other duties as assigned by the Practice Manager.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Minimum of two years’ experience in customer service
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a medical office
- Minimum of two years’ experience working with EHR
- Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills
Education, and Licensing Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
Office Hours: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM (M, T, W, TH, F)
