Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented medical receptionist to join our team, with preference given for candidates with medical billing experience.
Our office provides clinical and surgical eye care for patients with a range of vision issues, including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and many others, and we care about making a difference in our community.
As a medical receptionist you will assist with both clinical and business tasks. You will greet patients, schedule appointments and surgeries, verify patient insurance benefits and assist with clerical support.
Essential functions
- Demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills
- Answer the telephone to assist patients and referring physician offices with scheduling, registration, and directions
- Receive cash, check, and charge payments; put money in cash register. May be responsible for balancing the till
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Demonstrate knowledge of medical insurance, including co-pays, coinsurance and deductibles to accurately collect patient responsibility at the time-of-service
- Knowledge of medical coding systems (e.g., CPT, ICD-10)
- Billing duties would include obtaining prior authorizations, submitting medical claims to insurance, and following up on insurance rejections and claim denials
This position requires strong organizational skills, and working in a team environment to provide exceptional and compassionate care.

Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour
