JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares office for daily activities.
- Screens visitors and responds to routine requests for information.
- Greets patients arriving for appointments and ensures that all paperwork, insurance information etc. are up to date and correct.
- Collects co-pay and balances if necessary.
- Notifies physician office and/or clinic staff of patient arrivals.
- Maintains accurate and timely patient information in EHR (Athena) database.
- Answers telephones and transfers calls to appropriate staff member.
- Confirm patient appointments.
- Schedule new patients and follow up appointments and obtains authorization as necessary.
- Scans all appropriate paperwork into EMR including outside records,
- Other duties and assignments as necessary.

- Maintains effective working relationships with physicians, administration, and other staff members
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bilingual a plus.
Prior experience in a medical office setting is strongly preferred.
Experience with Athena Electronic Health Record (EHR) is preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology desirable, but not mandatory.
