Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service and administrative support in a medical office setting. You will need to schedule patients, call other doctors offices, put patients in rooms, communicate effectively with the other office workers, and end of day paperwork. Your attention to detail and ability to multitask will contribute to the smooth operation of our front desk.
Duties:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries
- Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and collect necessary documentation
- Utilize electronic medical record systems to update patient records and schedule follow-up appointments
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and timely communication
- Assist with medical scheduling, including coordinating referrals and obtaining pre-authorizations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area
- Handle billing inquiries, process payments, and maintain accurate financial records
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar administrative role
- Familiarity with medical terminology and office procedures
- Proficient in using electronic medical record systems
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Knowledge of phone systems and basic office equipment operation
