As our Medical Receptionist, you will be the last point of contact for our patients and visitors. We are expanding our medical office and looking for a fast thinking, reliable and knowledgeable individual with some experience working at a medical office. Main task is answering phones which includes checking out patients, appointment scheduling, data entry, phone messages, scanning, medical record requests. In addition to your administrative duties, you will play a key role in ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care. You will work closely with our physicians and clinical staff to provide excellent customer service and ensure that our patients have a seamless experience from check-in to check-out. This person must have great communications skills, bilingual (English & Spanish), be personable, courteous, and self-motivated. This person MUST be able to handle a HIGH volume of phone calls with multiple phone lines.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Check-in and check-out (collect co-pays, deductibles & coinsurance).
- Verify patient's insurance eligibility, benefits and update insurance.
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual.
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Provide general office support to staff members as needed
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality
Skill
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Proficiency in operating multi-line phone systems
- Experience with medical office software such as Carecaloud, Citrix and Powerchart or similar programs
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role is preferred
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
