Medical Receptionist

We are an outpatient psychiatric office located in Venice, FL with 1 psychiatrist, 2 Psych APRN's and 2 LCSW's seeking an immediate opening for a full-time receptionist to join our front office staff. Please only serious long term employment seekers apply.

Duties include: answering multi-line phone, retrieving phone messages through out the day, handling patient inquiries, insurance and demographic updates, scheduling, greeting patients, check in/out patients, new patient packets, obtaining medical records from PCP's and other providers, scanning and attaching medical records to EHR, collecting co-pays and patient payments, preparing prescription prior authorizations, faxing documents, and other duties as needed.

The ideal person will have customer service experience, a positive "can-do" attitude; a candidate that has familiarity with medical office operations (psychiatric, a plus, but not required), professional appearance, warm and friendly patient interactions, competent computer skills, self starter and quick learner.

Skills & Requirements:
-Must have a High School diploma
-Must be able to work Monday - Friday (30-40 hours per week)
-Excellent phone skills a MUST.
-Takes initiative to identify opportunities and resolve tasks.
-Able to prioritize, handle multiple tasks efficiently, and adapt and react quickly to changes.
-Comfortable handling both happy and unhappy patients.
-Strong attention to detail and follow-through
-Punctual and dependable.
-Must have experience with PC-based business application software such as Microsoft Office-WORD and EXCEL; use of a electronic health record system.
-Proper English grammar, usage, spelling and punctuation
-Excellent interpersonal skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-Ability to operate standard office machines and equipment, including telephones, computers, copy machines, fax machine and scanner.
