JOB DESCRIPTION
MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST
· To meet and greet all patient’s in a friendly, courteous & professional manner
· To take all phone calls from patients and assist however possible
· Make sure patient’s signs in on sign in sheet. Ask what Dr they are seeing if not noted.
· If patient has an HMO be sure you have proper referral
· Pull chart
· Ask if any changes in address, phone number or insurance
· On new patients
*Give necessary forms to patient to fill out
*Upon completions, check to be sure all info is provided
*Get copy of driver’s license & insurance card(s)
*Make new chart
*Verify insurance with insurance company. Get date active, co-pay, deductible information, and Primary care physician.
· Attach router. Check patient balance in computer. Fill out router & set up for medical assistant
· Make all appointments for return visit, stress, echo, ultrasounds, gastro, colons, and any other tests Dr. has ordered in or out of office
· Collect all co-payments and old balances patient has
· Write referral for any tests or consults Dr. has authorized in our HMO’s
· Assist patients whenever possible
· Keep work area clean and help out as needed in keeping building clean
This is not a 9am-5pm job you will have later days during the week but weekends off.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
