Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Receptionist. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth operations in our medical office.
Duties:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a friendly and welcoming environment
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Verify patient information and update medical records
- Collect co-pays and process payments
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to appropriate staff members
- Assist with medical administrative support tasks, such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow
- Familiarity with Veridigm, Allscripts, Phreesia, FollowMyHealth or similar practice management or EHR systems is preferred
Skills:
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus
- Proficient in using office equipment and computer systems
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with medical office operations is a bonus
- Comfortable using phone systems to handle high volume of incoming calls
