Office Manager roles and duties
SUMMARY: Under general guidance of the Medical Oncologist and Executive Director, the Medical Oncology Office Manager is responsible for managing office staff and coordinating the general activities of the office to ensure smooth and efficient services. The Medical Oncology Office Manager also performs a variety of office duties including patient care and support activities such as scheduling appointments, preparing medical records, providing support to other members of the healthcare team, and coordinates office support services with other department in the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Office Manager Duties Manages daily operations of the Medical Office to ensure smooth and efficient flow of patient services.
- Manages the activities of Medical Office staff, ensuring appropriate coverage and work flow. Will create the employee work schedule, approve time off, and complete performance evaluations.
- Will be the expert in all positions at the front office and will be scheduled to work all positions if necessary. Will work in any area that is short throughout the day.
- Serves as a liaison between oncology staff, physicians and management. Assists in coordination of patient and office issues between various oncology service lines.
- Serves as a liaison between patients, their families, other healthcare staff, and management, regarding patient issues and/or complaints.
- Works administrations and other department to provide compliance with office policy and procedures.
- Ensure office procedures are followed
- Implement training of new procedures and systems at the front office.
- Trains and ensures all medical office staff are following new procedures and are able to utilize new systems appropriately to do their job.
- Trains medical office staff on office policies, procedures, and equipment and computer systems and ensure they are kept up to date on changes.
- Participates in the selection, orientation, training, development, and discipline of Oncology Office staff.
- Serves as a primary contact for the Oncologists, Oncology staff, and others external entities working with the clinic.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour

Education:
- Bachelor's (Preferred)
Experience:
- Medical office management: 5 years (Preferred)
- Microsoft Office: 2 years (Preferred)
Ability to Relocate:
- Lakewood, CA: Relocate before starting work (Required)
