Hours: 8:00 - 5:00 Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
Pay Range: Nurse Aide $19.00-$21.00/hour Medical Assistant $20.00-$23.00/hour
The Medical Office Assistant assists in a clinical setting as a paraprofessional, and provides services to clients, maintains supplies, and performs clerical duties. The MOA works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse when carrying out clinical duties.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Vital signs
- Phone calls
- Chaperone
- Clean and stock rooms
- Inventory
Education/Experience: Completion of a Nurse Aide I or Medical Assistant program. Current CPR. Experience as a Nurse Aide I or Medical Assistant in an office or hospital setting or recent completion of Nurse Aide I certification. Fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
License: Current registration as a Medical Assistant or Nurse Aide
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Able to perform vital signs, room patients, and perform nursing assistant work in a clinic
- Ability to practice sound hygiene, and sanitation and OSHA practices/techniques
- Possess ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility, and seek appropriate assistance from supervisor
- General knowledge of clinic procedures, vital signs, public health care programs, policies, basic physical and mental illness
