We receive referrals from DCFS and other foster care providers to foster children with special needs. Our children come from temporary homes, hospitals or residential settings. All of the children we work with have experienced trauma and many have experienced neglect. They need dedicated foster parents to welcome them into their homes and provide love and nurturing. We are with you every step of the way. UCP Seguin's professional staff support team is available to you 24 hours a day, including:
- Registered Nurse
- Case Manager
- In-Home Family Therapist
- Behavior Specialist
- Licensing Representative
- Education Services
- Staff Trained Respite Worker for assistance and relief
General Qualifications & Steps to a Foster Career:
- Single, Married, or Civil Union
- 21+ year old Mature Individuals
- Own/Rent (with landlord approval to foster) residence
- Valid Driver License & Auto Insurance
- DCFS Fingerprinting
- DCFS Home Study, Family Interview, and Reference Checks
- Adequate Supervision Plan for Working Foster Parents
- Complete UCP Seguin training & DCFS PRIDE training
- Compliance with DCFS 402 Licensing Standards
- Drug Screening
- Complete Adult, Infant and Child CPR, First Aid and Safety Care for Families
- Pass a Physical Examination'
