Mattax Neu Prater Eye Center has been meeting specialized eye care needs for over 21 years. Our Springfield location has a part-time Front Desk/Insurance Verification job opening working approximately 25-29 hours per week. We are seeking a professional, enthusiastic, and energetic individual who is organized and has a positive attitude and a desire to help individuals with their health care needs.

The Front Desk/Insurance Verification position will require basic clerical tasks such as greeting patients with a professional, respectful, and caring attitude while verifying patient benefits, collecting payments, patient check in/out, scheduling, and confirming appointments.

This is a part-time position working Monday – Friday, no evenings or weekends required and offers a competitive hourly wage.

Job Responsibilities:

• Welcome and greet all patients and visitors
• Register new patients to verify insurance eligibility. Requires medical insurance knowledge to verify insurance eligibility through electronic resources.
• Update existing patient demographics
• Collect patients out of pocket liability (co-pays, co-insurance & deductibles)
• Protect patient confidentiality
• Responsible for keeping the reception area clean and organized

Required Skills/Qualification:

• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Effectively communicate with patients, in a kind, courteous and patient manner
• Effectively communicate with coworkers and supervisor
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to use standard office equipment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office program or other software required
• Good attendance/dependability
