Reasons you'll love working with us:

  • If you have a particular age range or population you're interested in working with, you can find your niche here. Our clients and staff are as diverse as the city we work in, and include people of all cultures, religions, races, gender expressions, and sexual orientations.
  • We're committed to supporting your career development by encouraging mobility and advancement across different program types and jobs.
  • With 70 locations throughout the five boroughs, you can work close to where you live.
  • Generous vacation time and 15 paid holidays will help you achieve a healthy work/life balance.
  • We offer an excellent benefits package with affordable, high-quality health and dental insurance with low co-pays.
  • You'll receive ongoing support through high-quality supervision, specialized trainings from our Continuing Education team, and an education benefit.

How you can make a bigger difference:

Our staff use a culturally affirming, person-centered approach to help individuals and their families develop skills and resources to improve overall functioning, to instill hope, and to strengthen resiliency. Our programs work closely with community partners to address health disparities in our neighborhoods while also celebrating the strengths and resiliency of our communities.

  • Attend quarterly Medication Efficacy Review meetings for individuals who take psychotropic medication with a focus on impact of medical conditions and medications on behaviors.
  • Assist, as needed, with pharmacist's quarterly Medication Regimen Reviews.
  • Collaborate closely with Executive Program Director, Senior Nursing Director, Clinical Directors and Residential Directors to maximize integration of medical care within disciplines.
  • Partner with Chief Medical Officer and Chief Nursing Officer around vision for medical care in IDD settings.
  • Support quality improvement projects in coordination with Senior Nursing Director.
  • Participate in work rounds when onsite.
  • Participate in environmental rounds in each apartment or residence.
  • Be available to nurses for consultation regarding acute medical concerns among individuals.
  • When necessary, provide collateral information and clinical impressions to local emergency room staff for individuals needing urgent evaluation.
  • When indicated, consult with hospital and nursing home medical staff to obtain information, provide information, advocate for an individual's needs, or inform discharge planning.
  • Engage in outreach to local medical providers to diversify individuals' options for primary care.
  • When indicated, speak with primary care providers regarding individuals whose health is declining so that observations can be shared.
  • Strengthen operational workings and communication lines among disciplines (nursing, program, clinical, medical providers) in a matrixed environment.
  • Works with Compliance Department to prepare for audits and responds accordingly to results of audits.
  • Stays current with emerging developments in the fields of concern related to emerging and best practices, evidenced-based practices in treating conditions that commonly impact people with developmental disabilities, and policy and workforce issues.
