JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for a variety of tasks requiring data analysis, in-depth evaluation, and sound judgement. Daily duties include maintaining billing software, appealing denied claims, and recording late payments.

DUTIES: • Prepare and submit billing data and medical claims to insurance companies

. • Ensure the patient’s medical information is accurate and up to date.

• Prepare bills and invoices, and document amounts due to medical procedures and services

. • Collect and review referrals and pre-authorizations.

• Monitor and record late payments.

• Follow-up on missed payments and resolve financial discrepancies.

• Examine patient bills for accuracy and request any missing information.

• Investigate and appeal denied claims.

• Help patients develop patient payment plans. • Maintain billing software by updating rate change, cash spreadsheets, and current collection reports. Quigley Eye Specialists

QUALIFICIATIONS: ▪ High School diploma or GED

▪ Strong knowledge of insurance billing and reimbursement, experience with Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and Self-Pay collections

. ▪ Payment posting, an understanding of EOB's is a must.

▪ Have a full understanding of healthcare billing and collections and can effectively communicate with patients and payers.

, ▪ Ophthalmology experience a PLUS

▪ Has strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

▪ Organized, self-motivated individual, who can work independently but also works very well as a team

▪ Analyze AR for trends in denials and responded claims to identify issues that impacting AR adjudication, cash inflow and bad debt issues ▪ 3+ years in medical billing and coding
