Medical Coding/Billing Specialist

• Investigate, identify, research and appeal denied claims and follow-up on unresolved claims 
• Review and maintain claims, medical, and dental coding edits
• Identify billing and coding issues, claim denials, and special projects
• Create insurance plan appeal process 
• Provide customer service to patients and internal customers
• Maintain confidentiality and follow office policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as needed

• Must have a High School Diploma of GED
• Certified professional coder AAPC, or Certified Coding Specialist, AHIMA Certification is required
• At least 2 years experience with CPT, CPTII, HCPCS, and ICD10CM is helpful
• Must be familiar with Medicare, Medicaid, and health care regulations, billing, and reporting
• Microsoft Office Suite knowledge and EPIC related billing software is required
• Must have excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills
• Must have strong analytical, problem-solving, and math skills
• Must be able to abide by all policies, procedures, and confidentiality rules
