Overview:
Square Care Medical Group, LLP in partnership with Unified Women’s Healthcare New York is currently seeking a professional, organized, and experienced individual to fill the position of Medical Billing Specialist. This position is responsible for charge-entry production for multiple physicians, including entering all daily charges along with working assigned accounts receivable. This position works closely with the MSO (Management Services Organization) revenue cycle team to promote timely, accurate claim cycle.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs required daily charge-entry of missing slips worklist.
- Validates accurate documentation and reporting of claims.
- Manages daily worklist of claim denials and claims on hold.
- Responds to phone and mail correspondence in a timely, professional manner.
- Collects outstanding patient balances and processes payment plans when required.
- Effectively communicates with insurance carriers and patients to request information, as well as to review issues, concerns affecting reimbursement.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of governmental and managed care policies and procedures. Demonstrates ability to interpret and communicate regulations to ensure compliance.
- Interprets patient and insurance issues and determines resolutions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Demonstrates ability to audit and review accounts for reimbursement based on knowledge of billing regulations, medical terminology, and coding requirements.

- Communicates with collection agencies as needed
- May be asked to perform other functions.
- Associates degree preferred
- Medical billing and coding certification, CPC preferred
- At least 1-year prior billing experience required, OBGYN CPT/ICD-10 experience preferred
- EMR experience required, Athenahealth preferred
- Advanced proficiency level with Microsoft Office Suite and Excel
- Organized, with accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
