- Review and analyze medical documentation to ensure accurate and timely billing
- Assign appropriate Homecare Billing Codes.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for services
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, and appeal if necessary
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and billing information
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies or issues
- Stay updated on industry changes and regulations related to Medical Billing
```Skills```
- Proficiency in Medical Billing processes, especially homecare billing ,including knowledge of ICD-9 coding system
- Familiarity with medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses
- Experience working with Medical Billing systems and software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
- Knowledge of medical coding principles, including DRG coding
- Understanding of medical records management and confidentiality practices
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers
- Experience with medical collection practices and strategies
- Knowledge of medical office operations and workflows
