Medical Billing Specialist (ABA Billing Experience Preferred)

Position Overview:

As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes for our ABA therapy services. Working remotely, you will be responsible for managing insurance claims, verifying insurance coverage, and handling billing inquiries to support the financial operations of our organization. This position offers the flexibility of either part-time or full-time hours with a minimum commitment of 25 hours/week.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner
• Verify insurance coverage and benefits for ABA therapy services
• Follow up on outstanding claims and resolve any billing discrepancies or denials
• Client Invoicing/Collection
• A/R management
• Contracting/credentialing with Insurance (monitoring provider directories)
• Client Authorization management
• Communicate effectively with insurance companies, clients, and internal stakeholders regarding billing inquiries
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance regulations, billing codes, and reimbursement policies relevant to ABA therapy services

Qualifications:

• Experience in Medical Billing required, specifically with ABA therapy services preferred
• Experience with the Autism Scholarship, Help Me Grow, and Medicaid preferred
• Proficiency in using billing software
• Strong understanding of insurance billing processes
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations
