As a Medical Coder/Biller joining our early-stage startup, you make a meaningful impact to the business through the development and implementation of our claims submission process.
Position: Medical Coder/Biller - Telehealth Services
Location: Remote
Job Type: Part-time
Hourly Rate: $21-24/hour, with incentive bonus possible
Responsibilities:
- Telehealth Billing: Manage the end-to-end billing process for telehealth services, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Medical Coding Expertise: Assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes to telehealth encounters, optimizing reimbursement and minimizing denials.
- Claim Submission: Prepare and submit electronic claims for telehealth services to insurance providers, following up on any rejections or discrepancies.
- Revenue Cycle Management: Monitor and analyze the telehealth revenue cycle, identifying opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
- Documentation Review: Collaborate with healthcare providers to review and validate telehealth documentation, ensuring accurate and complete billing information.
- Compliance: Stay up-to-date on telehealth billing regulations and compliance requirements, implementing necessary changes to maintain adherence.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in medical billing; specific focus on telehealth services preferred.
- Education: College degree; additional certification in medical billing and coding is highly desirable.
- Knowledge: Proficient in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding for telehealth services, with a strong understanding of insurance billing processes.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, practice management and medical billing software; experience with EZclaim and Availity platforms would be especially useful.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with healthcare providers, insurance representatives, and internal staff.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in billing and coding processes to minimize errors and ensure timely reimbursement.

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
