Medical Biller

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. The position will be responsible for answering several lines with calls from patients to discuss questions on statements. This role requires a strong understanding of medical coding systems, such as ICD-10, as well as excellent knowledge of CPT codes. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Kareo/Tebra billing software and be familiar with posting payments and ERA's.

Duties:

- Post patient payments to accounts as well as Post payments from insurance companies including ERA or electronic remits

-Answer calls from patients as well as healthcare providers with questions on patient balances and accounts.

- Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any billing discrepancies or denials

- Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries or disputes

- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines

Skills:

- Proficient in medical coding systems, including ICD-10 and CPT

- Strong knowledge of procedures, and diagnoses in Pediatrics or Family Practice

- Familiarity with medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems experience with Kareo/Tebra would be preferred.

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes

-Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers

- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload
