We are currently accepting applications for a Medical Assistant/Receptionist with a minimum of one-year experience to join our team.
Primary Medical Receptionist duties will include but are not limited to:
· Obtaining prior authorizations for diagnostic exams and referrals
· Scheduling diagnostic exams
· Greeting patients in a friendly, professional manner
· Answering, screening, and directing phone calls to appropriate parties without error
· Scheduling appointments
· Reviewing patient registration forms for accuracy and completeness
· Verifying insurances and requesting co-payments
Primary Medical Assistant duties will include but are not limited to:
· Responsible for submitting referrals to insurance
· Preparing and maintaining exam rooms in a clean and orderly manner
· Taking patient chief complaints
· Assisting physicians with a wide range of tasks that are related to patient care
· Contacting pharmacies with new medication and/or order changes as directed
· Giving vaccinations/injections, performing vision tests, audiograms, and EKG’s
Requirements:
This Per Diem role requires working alternating weekends and holidays. Weekday shifts will be a mix of afternoons and evenings.
· At least one year of experience as a medical assistant/receptionist preferably in an Urgent Care setting
· Knowledge of medical terminology
· Electronic Medical Records proficiency; Cerner preferred
· The desire to work in a fast pace environment
· The ability to communicate clearly to patients and fellow staff members both verbally and in writing
Educational Requirement:
· A High School Diploma or GED
· A valid Medical Assistant Diploma/Certificate
· A valid CPR card
