ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: To perform this job, an individual must accomplish each essential function satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Receive, screen and process all referral information
• Perform verification of benefits:
o Verify benefits
o Verify payment method and amount
o Obtain prior authorization to ensure that services are reimbursable prior to admission
o Assign appropriate payer category to be keyed by facility personnel
o Scan information back to requesting facility
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of all referrals/admissions to include notification from the social worker or discharge planner
• Answers phones for resident information dissemination
• Participate in required in-services and other meetings as requested
• Organize workload to complete responsibilities in an appropriate and timely manner
• Other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident related information
• Encourage a positive environment and experience for co-workers
• Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing
• Successful completion of required training
• Handle multiple priorities effectively
• Reliable transportation
Required Computer Software/Equipment used:
• Various operating systems
• Standard office equipment
• Microsoft Suite applications
• Desktop, laptop and/or iPad
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Three (3) years' experience in a healthcare related environment preferred
• Exposure to healthcare marketing a plus
License/Certification(s):
• Bachelor of social work or bachelor's in psychology
• Current CPR certification (or participate in training)
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:
• Does not have supervisory responsibilities
• Occasionally needs manager's direction due to extraordinary circumstances
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Audio-Visual: Hearing: Good
• Ability to lift to 40 pounds
• Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling
• Work is typically performed in a standard office environment; well-lit; comfortable temperature-controlled
• Above-average conversational noise is frequent
• Position may require flexible hours, unscheduled overtime or occasional week-end work
• Travel may be required
