The Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, in collaboration with the Colorado Springs City Medical Clinic, invites applications for a Medical Assistant position. The City Clinic is located at the Lane Center for Academic Health Sciences, a unique cutting-edge partnership that fuses mental and physical health services to create an outstanding model for integrated healthcare, education, research, and preventive primary care services. This is a full-time position that will be responsible for assisting with the front and back office duties in a family practice setting.

Job Duties:
    Assist with patient check-in, exams, minor office procedures, including but not limited to, set-up, clean-up, patient preparation and documentation in the EHR.
    Interview patients, measure vital signs, review medications and document care provided by established guidelines. Administer injections, specimen collection and point of care testing. Prepare and disinfect exam rooms for each patient's visit. Ensure adequate supplies and appropriate instruments are available. Inventory and stocking rooms. Ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained per protocol. Assist with scheduling patients, phone calls/messages, and keeping referral information up to date.

Work Location: On-site
This position has been determined to be eligible for overtime (non-exempt) under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
What We Offer:
Salary Range: Generally starting at$36,072 - $48,096.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

This position is dependent on the availability of auxiliary revenues funding.
Tentative Search Timeline:
    Priority will be given to applications submitted by February 18, 2024. However, this posting will remain open until filled. The potential dates for interviews with the search committee will be the week of February 26, 2024. The potential dates for interviews with the supervisor will be the week of March 4, 2024. The potential employee start date is March 2024.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Certified or registered as a Medical Assistant in Colorado
  • Current BLS certified

Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit.
  • Employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
  • Tasks may involve looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
