Job Description
The Medical Assistant Apprentice is entering into a WA DOL registered Apprenticeship program with Providence Medical Group, in conjunction with the Washington Association of Community and Migrant Health Centers (WACMHC).
This position functions under the supervision of a Certified Medical Assistant Coach and within the scope of practice that the MA-C Coach has determined is appropriate based upon the education and skills requirements of the WACMHC Apprentice Program; and, as defined by the Washington Administrative Code (WAC). Medical Assistant Apprentices are responsible for providing direct patient care and will practice up to the skills learned and approved to practice through the Apprentice program guidelines. MA Apprentices will apply current healthcare concepts and assist with routine or general clinical responsibilities that may contribute directly and indirectly to patient care under the supervision of the MA-C Coach or Provider.
May work up to the documented level of academic and clinical competence accomplished in the individual's Apprenticeship program.
The Apprentice is expected to complete the 2,000 hours of clinical practice under the guidance of the MA-C Coach, 410 hours of coursework (unpaid), 3 skills labs (unpaid) and participate in all required apprenticeship activities. Successful completion of the Apprentice program and the national MA-C certification test, in conjunction with remaining an employee in good standing, will qualify Apprentices for entry into the regular job classification as an MA-C. Performs all duties in a manner which promotes team concept and reflects the mission and values of Providence Health & Services.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

About the Team
Providence Physician Enterprise (PE) is a service line within Providence serving patients across seven states with quality, compassionate, coordinated care.
