We are seeking a Medical Assistant to become a part of our team!
Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for performing routine clinical and administrative task. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, EKG's and administering medications. Administrative duties may include answering phones calls, registering new patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and collecting/posting fees.
Perform front and back office procedures consistent with his/her scope of practice, training, clinical policies.
Under the direction of a Physician, perform minor procedures such as but not limited to; phlebotomy, ear lavage, nebulizer treatments and basic laboratory functions, facilitate sending specimens to outside laboratory, as well as age specific screening tests.
Demonstrate effective communication skills and ability to work effectively with people under stressful situations.
Take direct responsibility for individual duties assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of medical terminology, medical laboratory procedures, and Healthcare operations workflow.
High School graduate or equivalent.
Medical Assistant Certificate.
Medical Assistant Experience minimum of 1 year
Phlebotomy training.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
