Pediatric Medical Assistant Job Responsibilities (Supporting Pediatricians):
Clinical Assistance: Assist pediatricians during physical examinations, ensuring all necessary tools and equipment are ready and within reach.
Prepare young patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort.
Measure and record vital signs, including height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate tailored for pediatric norms.
Collect and prepare laboratory specimens as directed by the pediatrician.
Administer medications, vaccinations, or treatments as prescribed and under the supervision of the pediatrician.
Patient Care and Handling: Educate parents/guardians about the importance of regular health check-ups, vaccination schedules, and other pediatric-specific care aspects.
Comfort and reassure children who might be anxious or scared about their visit.
Assist pediatricians in educating children in an age-appropriate manner about their health, treatments, or procedures.
Administrative Support: Update and maintain accurate medical records for each child, documenting their visits, treatments, and any recommendations from the pediatrician.
Schedule follow-up appointments and inform parents/guardians about any necessary future visits or tests.
Coordinate with labs, specialists, or other medical facilities as directed by the pediatrician.
Equipment and Examination Rooms: Sterilize instruments and ensure the examination rooms are clean and equipped with necessary pediatric tools.
Restock examination rooms with essential supplies, ensuring the availability of pediatric-specific items.
Communication: Serve as a communication bridge between the pediatrician, young patients, and their families, ensuring clear understanding.
Provide post-visit summaries, care instructions, or medication guidelines to families as directed by the pediatrician.
Coordination: Collaborate with other staff, including nurses and front office personnel, to ensure smooth patient flow and reduce pediatrician's waiting times.
Coordinate referrals or further tests as directed by the pediatrician.
Safety and Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of safety and hygiene in the pediatric setting to protect young patients.
Ensure compliance with pediatric healthcare regulations and guidelines.
Continued Learning: Regularly update knowledge about pediatric medical advancements and best practices.
Attend pediatric-focused workshops, courses, or training sessions to provide optimal support to pediatricians.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Familiarity with phone systems and computers
- Previous experience with Microsoft Office software preferred

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 36 per week
