Responsibilities:
- Call new patients in advance of scheduled appointment to chart prep
- Schedule and confirm appointments using Advanced MD or other medical records systems
- Excellent typing and computer skills
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information to patients
- Maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with Medical Administrative support tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Coordinate referrals and obtain necessary authorizations for patient care
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Medical Administrative Assistant, or in a similar role is preferred
- Proficiency in using Advanced MD or other medical records systems is highly desired
- Knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of basic healthcare procedures
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing patient records and scheduling appointments
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and healthcare providers
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor
