Who is an ideal candidate for this position? This is the perfect position for someone who is straight-up creative. Due to our workload, the position requires someone who can multi-task, work well under pressure and change direction quickly. This person also needs to be able to work well with clients and team members. We all know art is subjective, so this person needs to take criticism well and know how to proceed positively. This person has to have a "above and beyond" mantra to succeed. This person also needs to be engaging and diplomatic at the same time.
What is a typical day like? No two days are the same. However, a creative hat needs to be worn each day.
What can I expect the first 60-90 days? Your first few weeks will be getting up to speed on all things College of Business, and what is expected of you as a part of the Marketing and Communications Team. You'll be shadowing two current creatives who have been at the college for 10+ years. While there is some on-the-job training, you need to bring previous work experience and skills using InDesign and Illustrator. This is not the job for someone who has zero work experience with these two software programs - it's an absolute must.
