The Brevard Humane Society (BHS) is seeking a full-time opportunity for an experienced Media Specialist. Interested candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment and can function with confidence as well as with a team. Must have a strong compassion for animals; be self-motivated, be capable of multitasking, reliable, an excellent communicator, and detail-oriented. Must be able to develop media relationships, cultivate new prospects, and support media related activities (press releases, radio spots, social media videos, etc.). Support mailings, newsletters, reports, and other communications to donors, members and the community in coordination with the Executive Director (ED). Must be able to manage the organizational database (mailing list for newsletters, etc.), as well as maintain the BHS website and all forms of online social media. Will be expected to create and maintain a weekly e-mail update and be proficient in WordPress, Photoshop, Canva, Constant Contact, Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, and various Social Media outlets (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter). Ability to assess priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, understand algorithms, and pull numbers every month for reporting.

Must have a flexible schedule; work week will normally be Tuesday to Saturday, 8 am to 5 pm, will be required to work some evening and weekend events as well.
