Mechanical Test Lab (MTL) Technician 2nd Shift

Monday thru Friday - 3PM to 11:30pm - $21-$23 per hour D.O.E

Summary/Objective

The MTL Technician inspects finished products. Performs quality control tests in the lab. Prepare samples prior to shipping them to customers. Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure product integrity and quality control.

Essential Functions

1. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

2. Understanding and operate test equipment.

3. Demonstrated proficiency using MS Office software (Excel, Access, etc).

4. Can operate cutting machines and high temperature equipment and be trained in lay-up, curing, cutting and Mechanical Testing.

5. Observe all company Health and Safety policies and utilize safe working practices.

6. This includes maintaining housekeeping on a daily basis to meet company standards.

7. Comply with all requirements established by Quality System.

8. Carry out Mechanical Testing requirements to predefined specifications and standards, maintaining clear and concise records of the testing, and ensuring associated equipment meets the needs of specifications and the business alike.

9. Work directly with supervision to maintain a clearly defined schedule for mechanical and other tests, ensuring resource requirements are communicated to all affected departments.

10. Create and maintain close working relationship with all other lab employees, support the needs of the business as communicated by supervision, and ensure the communicated 'Lab Rules' are followed at all times.

Work Environment

Lab, office environment with some exposure to factory floor.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a standing position. This would require the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to wear a NIOSH approved respirator.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
