The Department of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Lecturer to join our team starting in Spring or Fall 2024. Lecturers play a critical part in educating our students and shaping the future of our Mechanical Engineering programs. 

Our new colleague will bring a solid foundation in Mechanical Engineering theory and practice, specializing in either Solid Mechanics or Thermal and Fluid Systems. You will play a vital role in achieving our department's mission through teaching courses that support our undergraduate curriculum. Your standard teaching load will be three courses per semester (3-3). Beyond the classroom, you will contribute to the department's success and growth through mentoring students and participating in departmental, college, and/or university committees.

As our colleague, you incorporate best practices and innovative teaching methods to create dynamic and engaging classrooms. You enjoy exploring effective pedagogical techniques and have a commitment to delivering an exceptional educational experience for all students.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's and Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field

  • Thermal andFluid Systems or Solid Mechanics focus

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience as a practicing mechanical engineer

  • Experience teaching undergraduate Mechanical Engineering courses

  • Demonstrated ability to apply evidence-based instructional practices in the classroom and evidence of commitment to excellence in teaching

  • Professional experience outside of academia is highly valued

Salary and Benefits:

Salary ranges from $63,000 to $65,000 (9-month contract).
