Key Responsibilities:
- Engineer and design complex mechanical systems and ensure their successful implementation.
- Apply engineering principles to create innovative machine designs.
- Manage and prioritize time effectively to ensure project success.
- Generate and present concepts and designs for approval.
- Assure mechanical quality and safety in all designs.
- Assemble, diagnose, and repair machines & equipment as needed.
- Efficiently acquire and apply knowledge to solve complex problems.
- Plan and accomplish tasks under general supervision.
- Participate in the estimation of design work for project completion.
- Implement Root Cause Analysis and troubleshooting methods.
- Build and test prototypes to validate concepts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless project integration.
- Create accurate and complete 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
- Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and stakeholders.
Required Skills, Traits & Abilities:
- Deep understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles and machine design.
- Experience with rapid prototyping and hands-on prototype development.
- Proficiency in GD&T, Engineering Drawing & Documentation Standards.
- Advanced Solidworks skills; CSWA or CSWP certifications are advantageous.
- Ability to design and manage large assemblies with minimal oversight.
- Competent in designing systems with linear motion, linkages, mechanical power transmission, and other mechanical components.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for site visits and installations.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, mechatronics, or equivalent work experience.
- 5-10 years of recent experience designing machines, mechanisms, and devices.
- Experience in a fast-paced engineering environment, preferably as an integrator or custom machine builder.
- Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Solidworks PDM proficiency; administrator experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of standing for extended periods and performing tasks involving repetitive movement, bending, and twisting.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs following safe work practices.
