You’d like to do this:
A qualified candidate would have a background in Mechanical Engineering and interest in supporting a variety of aerospace and defense work. Projects vary within technology areas at BlueHalo, and Mechanical Engineering work can consist of designing electro-mechanical mechanisms such as steering mirrors or gimbals, electronics packaging and thermal management, sensor design and opto-mechanical system design. These programs are for a variety of applications including ground-based demonstration programs, operational fielded assets as well as space qualified imaging, and laser communications.
- Supporting mechanical design activities of various projects including modeling electro-mechanical systems, electrical enclosures, opto-mechanical systems, etc.
- Supporting system assembly, integration, and test of the above hardware
- Assist other engineers in creating and updating SolidWorks models and drawings.
You’re required to have this:
Required Education and Experience
- Two years completed of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four-year university.
- Desire to pursue a career in Mechanical engineering for Aerospace systems.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience with SolidWorks CAD software.
- Experience with FEA software
- Hands-on experience (machine shop, assembly, automotive, etc.). Ability to understand technical drawings and assembly instructions.
- Completion of inter-disciplinary course work including controls/mechatronics, basic electrical circuits, etc.
