WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Set up, execute, and document the results of product validation tests in support of new product development (R&D) activities.
DV and PV Testing
Prepare test equipment and parts, per procedures and execute all internally assigned tests in the DV and PV test plan, following test procedures and scripts appropriately.
Monitor tests closely and report immediately any failure or malfunction of the product in test.
Store tested parts per company/customer guidelines. Ensure traceability of tested parts by properly identifying/tagging them.
Extract all data and fill out templates as required. Inspect parts for damage and wear and document inspection.
Test failure investigation
Assemble parts and carry out testing according to the investigation plan provided by customer application engineer.
Equipment maintenance:
Keep track of equipment calibrations and certifications.
Monitor equipment preventive maintenance plan and request service as required.
Request service for corrective maintenance in the case of equipment failure.
Investigate and develop new technology for instrumentation and equipment.
Benchmarking in support of Business hunting activities:
Procure parts, order fixtures, and execute benchmarking plan as per requested from customer application engineer and/or design engineer.
Customer Requirement Analysis:
Work with applications engineer and design engineer and help with identifying gaps between customer requirements and company test practices.
Create / modify and release test procedures through collaboration with Engineering.
Create / modify test scripts to support new customer tests or internal test development.
Technical Review:
Support this activity by supplying all benchmarking and surrogate data from similar programs.
Program timing
Support this activity by supplying the customer application engineer and Test Engineer with lead times for all the tests in the plan and equipment schedule.
Procure, label & store all fixtures required for DV and PV testing.
Prototype builds
When needed help assembling prototypes,
Follow BOM and prototype control plan.
ID/serialize parts prior to testing.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Essential:
· 3 years of Test Engineering experience in the automotive industry or experience with bench/lab or dynamometer testing
· Bachelor's Degree-Mechanical Engineering, ASE certification OR 8 years of related experience
· Experience with installing probes (thermal, proximity, stroke)
· Knowledge of operating test equipment with PLC and operating data acquisition systems
· Strong MS office, interpersonal , communication, critical thinking, and organization skills
Preferred
· Experience with data acquisition and analysis systems (Pro-Link, MATLAB, LabVIEW, DIAdem)
· Experience in testing Automotive Brakes
· ASE A5 brake certification
· Visual Basic programing and the ability to create macros in MS Office
