The Mechanical Engineering organization is seeking Mechanical Electronics Packaging Engineersto support various programs and various roles such as design, Electronics Packaging, and mechanical lead positions.
This position is in Tucson, AZ (on-site)
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Mechanical design, geometric dimensioning and tolerance, and engineering testing
- Preparation of technical analysis reports and presenting in design reviews.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills in working with the Chief Engineer and team leaders.
- Balancing program staffing needs with available program resources.
- Developing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems related to the entire product life cycle including design, manufacture, integration and test of airframe structures and design solutions for multiple missile programs.
- Electronics packaging development, definition of mechanical interfaces, driving material selection, defining assembly details, fastener technology selection, lower-level detail, and assembly drawings, oversee mechanical layout and responsible for the final technical data package.
- Meet cost, schedule, quality, and performance requirements for the finished product.
- Coordinate with other disciplines in the development of design verification test plans and qualification test plans.
- Coordinate with operations (production) staff in the development of producible designs.
- Occasional travel to suppliers may be required to resolve production issues, technical performance issues or attend critical program engineering reviews.
- Mentorship is expected.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Aerospace, Engineering Science, Math, or other Engineering discipline
- 5 years of professional experience in mechanical design or related industry
- Experience with CAD solid modeling tools and analysis tools
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T)
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Value:
- Leadership experience with small teams (4-6 people)
- Supplier interaction and supplier management experience
- Ability to collaborate in teams or independently.
- Experience in mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal, structural analysis, energetics principals, control systems, interconnect, airframe, or large assembly development
- Knowledge of Agile hardware development
