Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems with high-speed production line equipment (e.g., mechanical drive systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, conveyors).
- Working with Electrical staff, troubleshoot and repair electrical problems with packaging/processing equipment such as wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, motors, and drives.
- Complete routine preventative maintenance tasks safely, cost-effectively, and on time.
- Support food safety, quality, and continuous improvement activities.
- Request the design/fabrication of replacement parts or equipment as needed.
- Take lead in consulting with internal resources to resolve issues and make improvements to equipment.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area ensuring workspace and storage areas are free from debris and clutter.
- Two years previous Production Line Mechanic or Technician experience preferred, OR equivalent technical degree or education.
- Packaging and steel aerosol can or aluminum can-making equipment experience is a plus.
- Understanding of automation principles and control logic is a plus.
- Ability to use Maintenance Shop equipment is a plus.
- Must be able to stand on your feet for the majority of the day and work in hot conditions, as well as crawl underlines and climb ladders.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to work occasional weekends if necessary.
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule.
