Summary:
The assembly technician will be responsible for performing the disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and reporting of inspection findings to the respective department.
Responsibilities:
- Disassemble, inspect, clean, and record measurements of returned customer parts
- Communicate findings via email to Applications Engineers and/or Supply Chain
- Follows BOM and drawings to verify and assemble valves, actuators, unloaders, Rebecca valve assemblies, and other valve related assemblies
- Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain if part meets required drawing dimensions.
- Deburrs or assists in deburring parts as needed using hand tools or powered tools
- Adjusts torque wrenches
- Performs and Observes leak tests to ensure valves are sealing correctly
- Perform visual inspections of components and complete final inspection reports
Minimum required qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be able to measure parts using micrometers, calipers or other measuring tools
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings and blueprints
The ideal candidate possesses the following experience, skills, and abilities:
- Clear communication, both oral and written
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Organization skills; keep area clean to 5S standards
- Prior shop or mechanical experience desired
- Prior assembler or field service technician experience preferred
- Must have a sense of urgency
- Must be extremely flexible to adjust to continually changing demands and adjust production plan to meet the demands
- Work independently and require little supervision
Mental/Visual/Physical Effort:
- The employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear
- occasionally required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and taste or smell
- must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Material Hazards:
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
