ABOUT THE ROLE: The Meal Assembly Operations and Quality Manager acts as the liaison between the kitchen and the rest of the operation. It is the Plating Manager’s job to ensure that the plating operation is on the “same page” as the kitchen operation. The Plating Manager should have a big picture vision of the plating operation while also being able to be detail oriented when it comes to the food. The Meal Assembly Operations and Quality Manager is also the last person to “ok” a dish before the customer sees it.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build & establish a strong team with a leadership pipeline; coach and develop talent within each functional area of your department
- Ensure that plated meals meet the company's quality and portion standards.
- Train and supervise plating staff.
- Monitoring the quality of all aspects of the product lines and conducting routine quality assurance audits.
- Create safety and training procedures around operating all equipment and machinery.
- Maintain inventory of plating equipment and supplies.
- Enforce safety and sanitation procedures.
- Design systems and operational changes to reduce the risk of foreign materials.
- Helping to relay new company policies to the Departments and reinforce adherence to all company policies. Contributing to the development of training material and process improvements for quality control.
- Pioneering new systems, standard operating procedures, and departmental policies to improve the quality control process.
- Address any performance or behavior issues promptly and professionally.
- Monitor staff performance and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Provide training and coaching to plating staff on proper plating techniques, portion control, and hygiene standards.
- Maintain clear and open communication with the Kitchen Manager and other relevant departments.
- Participate in regular kitchen meetings to discuss challenges, improvements, and updates.
- Ensure that plating staff are informed about menu changes, special requests, and customer feedback.
- Maintain a professional appearance and enforce the dress code among plating staff.
- Familiarize yourself with all ingredients listed on the menu cards. We take pride in maintaining consistency and delivering top-notch quality. Your meticulous attention ensures the final quality check before the meal reaches the guest.
SUPPORTING FUNCTIONS:
- Cleaning, organizing, and maintaining the working areas and all adjacent areas
- Lifting/moving boxes, bags, chairs, and tables (up to 50 pounds)
- Maintaining confidentiality regarding all proprietary information, including but not limited to recipes and Standard Operating Procedures ("SOP's").
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of management experience; preferably in food service or food production
- Quality Assurance experience
- AA Degree
- Must maintain personal hygiene in accordance with Ideal Nutrition standards
- Ability to think strategically and adjust communication style to different audiences
- Deep knowledge of Food Manufacturing, Food Safety & Quality, and Fulfillment
- Demonstrated ability to effectively motivate, develop and manage a large team - our culture is a critical part of our success, and you are directly responsible for driving it
- Demonstrated success at delivering new product initiatives
- Physical Requirements: Standing, lifting up to 35 lbs., work in cold environment, reaching, pulling, repetitive use of hands
- Read, understand, and follow the Employee Handbook and all company policies and procedures
- Strong organization skills and problem-solving skills
- Able to make simple math calculations
